GLYPHEIN

Flow Globe makes no network call.

It asks Power BI for no privilege and works offline. Each claim below says where you can check it.

{
  "privileges": [],
The first lines of capabilities.json, the manifest inside the package. An empty list means the visual asks Power BI for no special permission.

Four commitments, read in the code.

  • No map tiles

    The world map is drawn from data stored inside the package. Nothing is requested to draw it, so it looks the same offline.

    Check: rotate and zoom the globe with the network tab open. No request appears.

  • No geocoding service

    Your place names are matched inside the visual, against a table of 32,008 cities, 97 ports and 250 countries. No geocoding service is called.

    Check: bind a column of place names and watch the network tab. Nothing leaves.

  • No telemetry

    No analytics, no usage count, no crash report, no update check. The source has no code that makes a network request.

    Check: the project's release checks fail if the source contains fetch, XMLHttpRequest, WebSocket or sendBeacon.

  • No privileges

    Power BI makes a visual declare any special permission it needs: external web addresses, file export, local storage. Flow Globe declares none.

    Check: open the visual's About dialog in Power BI, or capabilities.json in the package.

Small, and self-contained.

So it works offline, and in tenants that block external services.

About 2 MB
2,099,617 bytes for version 1.33.5.0. Map, place table, fonts and ten languages are inside.
3 MB ceiling
3,145,728 bytes. The project's release checks refuse a package above it.
Nothing stored
No cookie and no local storage. Your settings are saved by Power BI, inside the report.

The only conversation is with Power BI itself: the visual asks which plans the user holds. The answer stays in the session.

Check it yourself.

  1. Open a report that uses the visual, with the browser's developer tools on the network tab.
  2. Rotate the globe, search, select a flow, switch views.
  3. Watch the tab: no request originates from the visual.
  4. Read capabilities.json in the package, a zip archive: privileges is an empty list.

Microsoft applies the same rule to certified visuals: no HTTP or WebSocket request may leave Power BI.

The site itself.

This site sets no cookie and runs no analytics. Its fonts, styles and scripts all come from its own domain.

Its host keeps ordinary server logs, as the privacy page describes.

Designed to Microsoft's certification requirements; certification will be requested after publication.

Until then, this page is our description of the code, not a Microsoft attestation. Microsoft's public rules forbid external requests, fetch and XMLHttpRequest.
