The visual collects nothing

Glyphein Flow Globe runs entirely inside Microsoft Power BI. It has no server, no account, and no way to reach us.

• No network requests of any kind

  No map tiles, no geocoding service, no analytics endpoint, no error reporting, no update check. The visual declares privileges: [] in its manifest, which is the Power BI mechanism that would be required for it to reach the network at all.

• One link, opened by you

  An empty visual shows a Manual link. Clicking it asks Power BI to open glyphein.eu/docs/ in your browser; the visual itself sends nothing. That page is part of this website, described below.

• Your data stays in your session

  The data you bind to the visual is processed in memory, inside your Power BI session. It is never sent to Glyphein or to anyone else.

• Geocoding happens inside the package

  The place names you supply are matched against a table of cities, ports and countries embedded in the visual itself. No geocoding service is called; your place names never leave the report.

• Map and fonts are embedded

  The base map and the typefaces are shipped inside the package. No map tile and no font is downloaded - so no third party learns that a report is being opened, or by whom.

• No telemetry, no crash reporting

  No usage measurement either. We do not know how many people use the visual, which features they use, or when it fails. This is a cost we accept deliberately; the consequence is described on the support page.

• No cookie, no browser storage

  The settings you choose - theme, view, filters - are saved by Power BI inside your report, under your control. Glyphein has no access to them.

Your data stays where Power BI puts it. Glyphein is not a processor of it, because Glyphein never receives it.

You do not have to believe us. Open the browser developer tools on a report page containing the visual, look at the network tab, and interact with the globe: no request originates from it. Microsoft applies the same check - refusing all external service access is one of the criteria a visual must meet to be certified.

Licences for paid features

Licences for paid features are sold through Microsoft AppSource. Microsoft sells and manages them, and they are assigned in the Microsoft 365 admin center.

To decide which features to show, the visual asks Power BI which Glyphein plans the current user holds. Power BI answers inside your session, and the answer is not sent to Glyphein.

Microsoft is the merchant of record: purchases, billing, payment and licence assignment are handled by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement, and Glyphein never sees your payment instrument.

What Glyphein may receive from Microsoft

When you acquire the visual, start a purchase or contact us through Microsoft AppSource, Microsoft may share with Glyphein, as the publisher, the information it provides to publishers: for example your name, company, email address, country, and the plan and quantity purchased.

We use it to manage your subscription, to meet our accounting and tax obligations, and, if you have not bought anything, to answer the interest you expressed.

Legal bases: performance of the contract for customers, our legitimate interest for prospects, and our legal obligations for accounting.

When you write to us

If you send an email to support@glyphein.eu, we hold what you chose to send: your address, your message, and any attachment. We use it to answer you and to fix what you reported, and for nothing else. We do not add it to a mailing list.

Please do not send us report data you are not allowed to share. If reproducing a problem requires a dataset, we will ask you for an anonymised extract instead.

This website

• No cookies

  This site sets none, for any purpose, and has no audience measurement.

• No third-party requests

  Fonts and styles are served from this domain. There is no analytics script, no tag manager, no embedded video and no social widget.

• Server logs

  Our hosting provider records the usual technical information - IP address, date and time, page requested, user agent - for the operation and security of the service. These logs are not used to profile visitors and are not combined with anything else.

How long we keep it

• Prospect information received from Microsoft

  Three years after our last contact.

• Customer information

  For the duration of the subscription, then five years, the limitation period.

• Accounting records

  Ten years, as required by French law.

• Support emails

  Three years after the last exchange, after which they are deleted.

Who receives it

Your information is used by Glyphein only. It is not sold, rented or shared for marketing.

Mail is hosted by Infomaniak Network SA, in Switzerland. Microsoft is a separate controller for the data it processes for AppSource and Power BI.

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, to object to or restrict its processing, and to data portability. Write to support@glyphein.eu and we will answer within one month.

If you consider that your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.

Changes

We will publish any change on this page, with its date: the date below changes with it, and the previous version stays available on request. We will not quietly start collecting something.

This page describes what the software and this site actually do, verified against the source code. It is not legal advice; if your organisation requires a specific form of statement, ask and we will provide what we can.
